Record Record Record
How hundreds of thousands fought road crime
Łukasz Marek Sielski
History of the phenomenon system and people who together created third-party reporting in the UK Deeply personal yet backed by deep research and records
Enabling the public to report road crime is an essential component in reducing road danger, and I have no doubt it will save life. This book shines a light on this important subject
Would you like to understand the minds of helmet camera cyclists? What drives us to do what we do? How did it all start? Where is it all going? With interviews (including me!) and insight, here's the book to order
The roads are getting safer because of people like Lukasz
A combination of new tech and the sudden refusal of ordinary commuters to accept the risk of dying on the way to work has led to a phenomenon — third-party reporting
I thought I was just trying to get to work without dying — turns out I’m part of a phenomenon called Third Party Reporting, and it’s massive
For everyone who thinks the roads will always be dangerous, and there’s nothing they can do about it
A great read. Fascinating and infuriating by turns!Jeremy Vine@theJeremyVine
This will be an ideal read for those who are part of the solution... and also those who are part of the problem group as well ....learning to had by all here ...
This book is one which should not only be bought but used as a campaigning tool for engagement with your local “road safety” professionals and/or your UK Police Service. It’s nominally about a niche area of activity – 3rd party reporting – but the reaction to it tells you a very great deal about driver law-breaking and how we can challenge it.
The book is very much focused around cyclists, especially those commuting in cities, which is understandable given the author’s experiences. It gives more than enough material though; covering motorists who report dashcam footage and more leisure-cyclist perspectives would have made it far longer, and even with the commuter cyclist focus, there were points in the book where I would have liked more explanation and detail.
Just bought on Kindle. Well-written and informative. I've been running cameras since a road rage incident a few years ago.
I love the part about Lewis
This is a well-researched book, for which the author travelled the UK to interview some of the early, and some of the more recent, cyclists who use video cameras to report traffic offences.
